7th March, GLASGOW, 1pm – 4pm
International Women’s Day Event
The theme of our event is: ‘Peace in the home… Peace in our communities’ in reference to the horrific numbers of women still suffering from gender based violence. As such, we have invited a variety of speakers to discuss how we can collectively work together to tackle gender based violence. Free entry, all welcome! There will be silk painting workshops being run for the children at our event.



7th March, GLASGOW, 2pm
March Of Women
Celebrate International Women’s Day in 2015 by joining the ‪#‎MarchforWomen with Glasgow Women’s Library and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. On the eve of International Women’s Day, we will march from Glasgow Women’s Library to Glasgow Green as a procession to celebrate the achievements of Scottish women from past and present. This is a public art event and everyone is welcome to join us and take part. Find out more about March of Women here:

International Women’s Day 2015
All around the world, International Women’s Day (8 March 2015) represents an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women while calling for greater equality. Make It Happen is this year’s theme, encouraging effective action for advancing and recognising women. As part of this year’s celebrations, the University is pleased to host a keynote talk by Professor Lesley Yellowlees, MBE BSc PhD FRSC FInstP FRSE, Vice Principal, University of Edinburgh.

International Womens Day Vintage Tea Party
Vintage Tea Party to celebrate the strength of women through the ages. This event is free and activities will include yoga, self defence, dance, nails etc. Tea, coffee & cakes will also be provided. This event is funded by Violence Against Women Implementation Group.

Join us as we honour our inaugural Outstanding Women of Scotland and find out who inspired the women that make Scotland today.

#Makeithappen- International Women’s Day
Saturday 8th is International Women’s Day which aims to celebrate the achievements of women whilst calling for greater equality. This year the theme is ‘make it happen’. At Equate Scotland we our doing our part to ‘make it happen’ and celebrate some of the achievements of the amazing women we work with, by hosting an event this week at the Scottish Parliament. It’s an opportunity to highlight some of our work, share our success and to encourage continued support from all our partners.
