EVAW calls for new National Curriculum to include Sex and Relationships Education

In its response to the new Department for Education proposals, EVAW says it is “deeply disappointed” that Sex and Relationships Education (SRE) are not set to be included in the National Curriculum. This is at odds with the Government’s stated commitment to taking a coordinated approach to Violence Against Women and Girls, and we urge them to reconsider.

We also call for the proposed new science curriculum not to water down information on human reproduction, and to preserve the place of human rights, including women’s rights, in citizenship lessons.
