The Girls’ Diary Project

February 13, 2013

[Glasgow] 13th February, 1pm – 2.30pm.

This Seminar will present findings from a long-term exploration of adolescent girls’ diaries.

This was initially a participatory auto-ethnographic look at the diaries of the women on the Girls’ Diary Project (GDP) team. The study expanded as women volunteered their diaries to the GDP.

The project looks at the concerns, insights, moods and experiences of young women as recorded in their diaries. In addition, the seminar will address research which has explored childhood peak experiences, adolescent rites of passage and the difficulties of researching the spiritual lives of young people. These studies offer glimpses of unexpected experience, reflexivity and thoughtfulness.
