
Support Options For Asylum Seekers And Refused Asylum Seekers And The Particular Needs Of Women Asylum Seekers

The Asylum Support Appeals Project, in association with the Refugee Women’s Strategy Group, is providing a free half day training in Glasgow which will cover:
- An overview of the support system;
- Overview of women asylum seekers in the UK;
- Section 4 Support: Who qualifies?;
- Pregnancy and Section 4 Support;
- Alternative housing options for women experiencing Domestic Violence;
- Overview of the right to appeal refusals of support;
- Presentation by the Refugee Women’s Strategy Group (Berthe Patricia Blanche Zimouini Nganga);
- Update on the Case Resolution Directorate (aka Legacy).
The session is aimed at advisers in the voluntary sector who help asylum seeking and refused asylum seeking women make applications for asylum support. This course assumes some pre-existing knowledge of asylum support. It is not suitable for advisers who are completely new to the sector or who are looking for a general introduction to support options for asylum seekers. To book please email gerry@asaproject.org.uk
