Open Space Event: The Issues For Women Experiencing & Services Working With Male Violence And Abuse
January 20, 2010Glasgow Women’s Voluntary Sector Network’s Standing Group On Violence Against Women would like to invite you to an Open Space Event
10am – 4pm, Tuesday 2nd February, St Andrews in the Square, Glasgow
Purpose of the Event: To explore some of the current issues surrounding all aspects of Violence Against Women and Discrimination encouraging open debate through discussion and consultation.
If you are already a member of the Standing Group or Women’s Network this is an excellent opportunity to come together with other like-minded women (paid and unpaid to safely and openly discuss a variety of issues surrounding violence against women.
If you are new to the Networks, this event will allow you to find out more about what services are available in Glasgow, what they do and a great opportunity to share your opinions about what needs to be done to address the issue of Violence Against Women.
What is Open Space: Open Space was created in 1985 and brings people together to discuss a common theme. Open Space is fully participative, there are no talking heads, and believes that the participants are the real experts. Just arrive with an open mind and the burning issues you want to see addressed around violence against women and service provision
Who should attend: Women who are working (paid or unpaid) on Women’s issues in the voluntary & charitable sector in and around Glasgow. You may be working for a women’s organisation, you could be working in any role on any aspect of women’s issues within your organisation or you may be an individual who for many reasons has an opinion or experience that you would like to share. Above all you should be passionate about working to resolve issues surrounding violence against women and be interested in meeting and talking with others who feel the same.
